Rob Samtmann of Equity Retail Brokers was pleased to represent Pet Valu in their store relocation in Audubon Square, located at 2650 Egypt Road in Audubon, Montgomery County, PA.  Pet Valu has relocated to a new space within the center, and in doing so has doubled the size of the store.  Their new store design, which now includes self-service dog washes, has been incorporated at their new location.  Pet Valu’s co-tenants include Giant, Starbucks, Panera Bread, First Niagara Bank, Radio Shack, T-Mobile and Game Stop.  The store is open and is located prominently near the entrance to the center and in close proximity to Giant.  Rob worked with the Landlord, Audubon Land Development, to complete this transaction.

Leased Up

Equity Retail Brokers brings two (2) new tenants to Maple Glen.  Greg Jones and David Goodman of Equity Retail Brokers were pleased to represent the Landlord, B.E.M.S. Realty Company, in leasing a total of 3,000 SF of inline space at the Maple Glen Center, located at 810 Welsh Road in Horsham, Montgomery County, PA.  The space was formerly occupied by Blockbuster.  The new tenants are as follows:

• Eric’s RX Pharmacy – leased 1,500 SF of space in the center; now open.
• Maple Glen Nails and Spa – leased 1,500 SF of space in the center; now open.

Their co-tenants include Dunkin’ Donuts, LaCucina Fanti Pizza, and Custom Cleaners. “Small store space in Maple Glen is difficult to find, so demand still remains high,” said Greg Jones.  “This was a rare opportunity for tenants to open new locations in the desirable Maple Glen Market.”  With the addition of these two new tenants, the center is now 100% leased.  Maple Glen Center boasts great visibility, high traffic counts, and serves the upscale communities of Upper Dublin and Horsham Township.

4th Annual Northeast Affiliates Members Meeting in Atlantic City, NJ

Equity Retail Brokers, Inc. and the Retail Brokers Network (RBN) hosted its 4^th Annual Northeast Affiliates Members Meeting in Atlantic City, NJ.  The attendance was strong and comments on leasing were positive as the RBN continues to refer business across company lines.  This year’s meeting was coordinated by Chuck Lanyard, President of The Goldstein Group.  The meeting was attended by Paramount Partners, Aries Deitch & Endelson, Sholom & Zuckerbrot Realty, JDF Realty, Equity Retail Brokers, The Goldstein Group, LMS Commercial Real Estate, MacKenzie Retail and Sax Realty.

“The Northeast members feel the first quarter of 2012 has strong signs of retail expansion and an increase in tenant activity on all retail levels,” Brian Wherty, Principal of Equity Retail Brokers said.  “We think the Northeast will continue to recover because of the strong demographics and growing communities along the Northeast corridor.  The Northeast, due to barriers to entries, is not overbuilt like some other sections of the country.”

The Northeast members presented business challenges and leasing strategies for all members to use in order to service existing and future clients.  Although each market is unique and every leasing project warrants its own strategies, we left the event encouraged as we build our brokerage business for the future and rely on information across the country.

Greg Jones of Equity Retail Brokers was pleased to represent the Landlord in leasing approximately 1,200 SF of inline space at North Wales Plaza, located at 755 Bethlehem Pike (Route 309) in Montgomeryville, Montgomery County, PA.  LA Weight Loss signed a five (5) year lease for the space, and they opened their new location in December, 2011.  Jim Creed of FAMECO represented the tenant in this transaction.
